“The incredible true story of a small town with a big sound,” this critically acclaimed music documentary debut about miraculously soulful Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and how it got that way is out on DVD/Blu-ray February 10 in the UK and February 25 in the US. Bono is in it, entirely too much, but don’t hold that against it. Director Greg “Freddy” Camalier’s debut film focuses on the guys behind the hits (by Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, the Rolling Stones, and many, many more) – pioneering studio boss Rick Hall and the remarkable Swampers session band – and the creative and physical geography that made the fabled Muscle Shoals sound unique.
